Very attractive Speed map of Bedfordshire. This is the rare 1743 edition after Henry Overton h acquired Speed's plates around 1713 and subsequently printed at least four variants of the atlas (c.1713, 1716, c.1720, and 1743). The Iodocus Hondius Caelavit Anno Domi,ni 1610 still on the map.

The inset plan of Bedford, surveyed by Speed himself, is the earliest known of this town.
