Stunning large map ( 2 shhets joined) engraved on two sheets and originally joined for an Atlas of

describing the territory of north west Italy where the locations of the battles that occurred at the beginning of the War of the Spanish Succession.

The map, enriched by a decorative scroll held up by cherubs with the title and distance scales, is centered on Genoa, Milan, Como and Lake Maggiore and extends to Florence and Lucca to the south-east, to Trento, Padua and Venice to north-east and Grenoble and Geneva to the west.

Unusual good condition as this 2 sheet map folded into atlas often gets damaged..
