An attractive and finely engraved pair of prints from the First Edition Of the Fables De La Fontaine with illustrations by Jean-Baptiste Oudry(1686-1755) and engraved by C.N.Cochin(1715-1790).This is the most famous & valuable of all the editions of the Fables.Oudry made these drawings between 1729 & 1734 and are a "monument to the art of the illustrated book of the 18th century".Each plate has the accompanying fable unless stated.Good impression printed on quality paper with wide margins.Very good condition.See next plate asd a 2 plate set.
