PARIS LOUVRE VEUE DU PALAIS DES TUILLERIES DU COSTE DE L'ENTREE
Sold
Superb and V. RARE panorama of the Tuilleries /Louvre.Through initial research I can find little reference to this engraving, although it seems to have first appeared in Israel Silvestre's Great collection of 41 large views of French Royal palaces and chateaux and their gardens, which were often issued seperately. There are a number of people involved; Israël Silvestre (1621-1691)appears to have drawn it and A.Meyer FECIT 1686, and finally Carol Allard d.1709, appears to have been publisher for this printing. The engraving was printed for Van Der Aa's 'Galerie Agreable du Monde'1730.There were only about 100 copies printed of this monumental work. Very strong impression.A beautiful view in near mint condition.
