Very rare version of Vernets Antibes.This particular engraving is the classic Vernet from Ports de France but a small number were printed from a reworked/or different plate to be slightly lighter,and then hand coloured at the time to look like a painting.These rare examples were for the rich who didnt want to be seen hanging engravings on their walls and consequently the all text and attributations were removed.This example is not only in almost mint condition it is a stunning example.RARE
