This superb full folio lithograph (lithowork by Louis Haghe) is one of the more atmospheric of the Roberts ..Spectacular litho of the columns and ruins at Kom Ombo with figures sheltering from the sun...Temple at Kom Ombo,an unusual double temple built during the Ptolemaic dynasty, 180-47 BC. Lies between Luxor and Aswan.

David Roberts (1796-1864) RA RBA Scottish painter best known for his series of fine lithographic prints of the Near East after sketches made from his tours from 1838-1840. The lithographs were published in a six volume elephant folio work rom 1842-1849.
