This superb full folio lithograph (lithowork by Louis Haghe) is one of the best views of an intact temple by Roberts . figures in foreground. A general view of the monumental gateway pylons, courtyard, and portico of the Temple of Horus at Edfu, on the west bank of the Nile. The temple complex was constructed during the Ptolemaic era.

David Roberts (1796-1864) RA RBA Scottish painter best known for his series of fine lithographic prints of the Near East after sketches made from his tours from 1838-1840. The lithographs were published in a six volume elephant folio work rom 1842-1849.
