Attractive and rare celestial chart, creation of the Universe .. engraved by I. A. Friedrich after Johan Melchoir Fuesselinus, which appeared in Physique Sacree, ou Histoire Naturelle de la Bible, translated by Jean-Jacques Scheuchzer.
This dramatic chart is centered on the planetary system, with Earth and other planets orbiting around the sun. Around this concept are classically drawn figures representing the signs of the zodiac. Other astronomical theories are demonstrated in the corners. At top left is a diagram depicting the rotation of the sun and other planets around Earth. At lower right is a comparison of the planets’ relative sizes.
